Thebigriverfish.com is dedicated to all those who who live and breath any type of fishing! We are avid salmon, stealhead and brown trout fisherman mainly out of the Big Manistee river in northern Michigan. We wanted a place, not only for ourselves but everyone who loves this great sport, that supplied information, fellowship and a down right great place to come and brag about what you recently reeled in! Dad,myself and future brother in law on the first morning of our last fishing outing. All the fish we caught this trip were caught well before daylight. Usually you can find us on the river at about 4:00am! We pack up and head for home right after daybreak because the salmon shut down after the sun hits the water. By shutting down I mean that the salmon will usually head for deep holes in the base of the river where the sun doesn't shine and the water temperature will be cooler.
